R. Rejoice and exult,
People of the earth,
For Christ is arisen,
He’s conquered death.

1. Let the desert sing for joy,
Let it flower like a rose,
Let the wastelands bloom and be glad,
Dry lands blossom once more.

2. Like the mountain snow they will shine,
With the splendour of our God ;
They shall see his glorious light,
Dawning over his land.

3. Steady all the trembling knees,
Strengthen every weary hand ;
Go and tell the nations the truth,
He has conquered our death.

4. Say to all the faint of heart,
Be strong, do not be afraid.
Here is God, your help is at hand,
Armed with power to save.

5. He will open the eyes of the blind,
Cause the lame to leap like deer,
Shall unseal the ears of the deaf,
Loose the tongues of the dumb.
