1. Behold, the sacred season,
Decreed by the Lord,
The moment of his grace,
The day of our salvation.
For Forty days we journey,
Our strength is restored,
With all our heart
We seek his holy face.

Ch. Grant us the joy
Of being saved
And let our lips sing
Your praises unending.
Strengthen our steps,
And renew our ways,
Create in us
A new heart, o Lord !

2. The Spirit leads us on
And in silence we go.
In desertland we stand
And hunger for his mercy.
We leave behind what binds us
And burdens our souls,
To find that God alone
Will make us whole.

2nd Sunday
3. Upon a mountain high,
Far away from the world,
We meet the Son of God,
The Lord in all his glory.
With Moses and Elijah
We hear and we know
How death will lead to life
And joy for all.

3rd Sunday – year A
4. Thus seated by the well
We encounter the Lord,
And resting from the road,
Our weary heart reposes.
The Lord will draw us water
Of life from the source –
A fountain in our hearts
That ever flows.

4th Sunday – year A
5. As for a man born blind,
Whom you touch and restore,
You open up our eyes,
So we may come to know you.
With fervor we proclaim :
You alone are the Light,
The One that overcomes
The night of fear.

5th Sunday – year A
6. With Martha and with Mary,
You wept for your friend ;
You came to save us all
And call us to be faithful.
We trust in you, O Jesus,
The source of all life ;
O, truly, you are Christ,
The Son of God.
